Today’s brief

General manager Joe Schoen confirmed the Giants will canvas the league for trade opportunities over the next two weeks while insisting current injuries will not dictate their deadline strategy. Meanwhile, New York adjusted its backfield depth by placing running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. on injured reserve and signing Gregory Desrosiers off the Chargers practice squad. Veteran quarterback Jameis Winston also publicly supported the coaching staff’s decision to elevate J.J. McCarthy to the starting role.
