Today’s brief
The New York Yankees are set to begin their ALDS series against the Tampa Bay Rays today, with Gerrit Cole confirmed to start Game 1. A significant storyline remains the uncertain availability of Aaron Judge, whose status for the opener was still being evaluated late yesterday. Giancarlo Stanton, however, is reported to be ready after his absence in the Wild Card round.
